If you were to look back, what in your childhood was a signal that you would be an artist? What was the first piece of art that you were proud of?
i was bored with school, all the way through (as most kids are), and the only way i felt good was when i was drawing. i can’t really remember the moment i knew i wanted to follow that path, but it’s been the one thing i was aware i was any good at for the longest time.
i have a hard time letting myself feel proud :/ i’m very self-critical. but i remember having to copy a gauguin painting upside down in 3rd grade, and i was pretty proud of my little self. now if only i could remember why we had to copy a gauguin painting upside down in 3rd grade…
(thanks for the question!)
